Classes and What to Bring
What should I bring?
For Beginners: Everything is provided. You will learn about the materials and equipment on the course.
For Improvers: It’s recommended that you bring your own paints and brushes, so you can be familiar with the tools you use. Paper and specialist materials are provided.
Day Workshops: Paper (supports) and any specialist materials are included, but please bring your own brushes and paints if you have them.

To get the most out of your watercolour experience, I recommend just three high-quality brushes and a small, good-quality palette of paints:

·One of the questions I get asked the most in my workshops is: What materials should I buy? Whether you're brand new to watercolours or looking to refine your setup, having the right tools can make all the difference.
What is provided?
Paper, water pots, palettes, accessories, and specialist materials are all provided. Brushes and paints are available for use as well.
Class Size
How many people are in a class?
Weekly Classes: Groups of up to 6 participants (usually 4).
Workshops (held outdoors in warmer months): Up to 8 participants.
Experience Requirements
Do I need any prior experience?
Everyone is welcome! Weekly classes are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced artists. Feel free to contact me for more information to determine which class suits you best (space permitting).
Location and Accessibility
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available on a gravel forecourt at the front of the property.

Is the space accessible?
The venue is on the ground floor, and the classroom and toilet are also on the ground floor. However, there are two steps at the front of the property.
Payment and Bookings
How do I pay?
Payment by cheque (made payable to Elizabeth Tomkins) or cash is also accepted.
Payment must be received on or before the start of your course or workshop.
How can I confirm my place?
Your place is confirmed once your payment is received.
Sickness and Cancellations
What happens if I am sick?
Weekly Classes: If you’re unable to attend, we will do our best to accommodate you on another day. Please inform us as soon as possible so your spot can be made available for someone else.
Day Workshops: If you notify us at least one week before the event, you can transfer your ticket to another workshop.
Course Dates and Availability
What is the term schedule throughout the year?
There are three seasons, roughly corresponding to school term time.
When do the courses go on sale?
Weekly Classes: These are offered in blocks of 10 sessions. You can book your place 6-8 weeks in advance when spaces become available.
Workshops: Workshops sell out quickly, so it’s best to book as soon as you see them listed.

Facilities and Refreshments
What facilities are available?
A warm indoor workspace
A toilet on the same floor
A covered northlight outdoor work area for summer workshops
Are refreshments provided?
Tea and coffee are typically served mid-morning and mid-afternoon. For day workshops, a complimentary lunch is provided, which might include options like salad with quiche, pizza, or a bake. There will always be a vegetarian option available. If you have special dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know in advance.
