This weekend, the medieval town of Dinan transforms into a living canvas for L’Aube de l’Impressionnisme — The Dawn of Impressionism, an international watercolour exhibition bringing together artists, enthusiasts, and art lovers from around the world.
From October 19 to 26, 2025, the Place des Cordeliers in the heart of Dinan’s old town will host a rich and colourful program of demonstrations, discussions, and live sessions, featuring internationally acclaimed watercolourists including Janine Gallizia, Marie-Claude Lesage, and César Gordillo Aguilar.

Each day offers a chance to dive into the art and technique of watercolor — from live painting demonstrations to conversations about creativity and the legacy of Impressionism. Highlights include:
Janine Gallizia’s “Watercolor Live” sessions (October 19) – Watch the artist at work in both French and English livestreams.
Daily demonstrations by artists such as Anita Denet, Laurent Russ, Larisa Anaya, and Nathalie Petit, exploring travel sketching and self-taught approaches.
Inspirational talks on the evolution of watercolor and how artists create their own success.
Each session runs between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., offering visitors an immersive journey through technique, color, and creative expression.
